USI

Lugano Campus
As an academic partner of the Lugano Global Forum, USI will host the second day of the event, strengthening its educational dimension. With the involvement of faculty members, students – the main audience of this day – will have a unique opportunity to engage directly with distinguished international leaders and decision-makers.
Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is one of the twelve public universities recognised by the Swiss academic system, coordinated by swissuniversities.
Founded in 1996, USI is a young and steadily growing institution. It is organised into six faculties and engages in various fields of study and research, particularly architecture, communication, law, economics, informatics, medicine, biomedicine, public health, computational science, data science, and the humanities. USI is characterised by its streamlined structure and strong international orientation, fostering an academic environment that encourages interdisciplinarity and dialogue. The university has four campuses located in Lugano, Mendrisio, and Bellinzona. The campuses currently host over 4,500 students and some 1,400 faculty and researchers from 114 countries.
The university's contained size contributes to a collaborative educational environment, with direct relationships between students, lecturers and academic staff. USI promotes quality education that emphasises active student participation and provides researchers with a flexible environment.
The university is guided by three core values: quality, openness, and responsibility, aiming to contribute to advancing knowledge and society.
