economiesuisse is the umbrella organisation of the Swiss business sector. The organisation represents the interests of a competitive, internationally connected and responsible-minded Swiss economy. As a link between the political arena, the economy and society, it advocates for framework conditions that enable Swiss businesses to thrive, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations. The association brings together around 100 trade and industry associations, 20 cantonal chambers of commerce and a broad range of companies. Through its members, it represents around 100,000 companies from all sectors and regions of Switzerland, employing around two million people. The organisation maintains an open, constructive and solution-oriented dialogue with political decision-makers and the public and works together with partners to achieve shared objectives in referenda and people’s initiatives.
The organisation’s objective is to secure Switzerland’s position as a competitive and attractive business location. It is guided by the conviction that an innovative, highly competitive and successful economy forms the basis of prosperity and well-being in Switzerland. To this end, the association builds bridges between business, politics and society and seeks to contribute responsibly to the broader interests of society.
In the political arena and during referenda and popular votes, economiesuisse campaigns for economic policies that strengthen Switzerland’s competitiveness. It advocates a liberal and sustainable market economy that takes account of all economic, social and ecological goals.
The organisation’s guiding principle is: “The economy – it’s all of us.” This reflects the belief that everyone shares responsibility for shaping our economic model so that it can continue to be successful in the future. Continuous dialogue about economic issues is therefore considered essential.
The members of economiesuisse benefit not only from the association’s advocacy and commitment to Switzerland as an attractive business location, but also from a wide range of services and a unique nationwide network. The organisation is active in various international bodies, works closely with its members and provides regular information and analysis on developments in key policy areas. It also cooperates with other associations and organisations that pursue similar objectives.
The economiesuisse team operates from offices in Zurich, Bern, Geneva, Lugano and Brussels.
